Backpack Drop Zone Ideas That Actually Work in Small Entryways!

Maria and Marina come home from school and I lose them for about four seconds while they drop everything directly on the floor and disappear into the apartment to do things I have not been informed about.

The backpacks stay though. The backpacks are always there.

I have stepped over them, around them, occasionally tripped on one in a way that is undignified for an adult, and I spent a long time pretending the problem was the girls when actually the problem was that I had not given them a better option.

We have two children. I think about families with four and I feel something. I don’t have the word for it but I feel it.

These are the ideas that actually work. Not the ones that look good in photos taken in homes where apparently no children live. The ones that work on a Tuesday at five in the afternoon when someone is tired and hungry and just wants to put the bag down and eat something.
