I did not grow up with the Grinch. In Greece we didn’t really have that tradition — it was only after the girls started school that Maria came home one December completely obsessed with a grumpy green creature who hated Christmas. The first time we watched the movie together, Marina spent most of it with her hands over her eyes and then immediately asked if we could make a Grinch Christmas tree.
